Day 12
         | |

    | | | Leftovers.

   hi-res

The ground beef that is left is turning very, very pale.
Large grubs are rolling around - but other insects apparently
don't want anything to do with the meat anymore.
You can now clearly see the styrofoam that was permanently adhered to
the meat from day2.

Actually, I don't think I can even call it meat at this point.
"Organic muck" seems more appropriate.

 Eeeeh.
After a certain amount of time, I expected the smell to lessen.
In fact, it has done the exact opposite.
A few days ago, it was awful, but not so awful that I thought I risked puking.
The smell cannot, I repeat, CANNOT get worse than it is now.

At least, I can't imagine a smell that could be worse.

The steak has hardened into a leathery, solid object.
I was unable to puncture it with a nearby stick - I doubt it could be done
with a fork. I may have to use a spatula to pry it out from under the ooze.

"Since that slab o' steak seems to be weathering the winds of change so nicely,
you might put it up for auction on eBay."

Hmmmm... I do need to recover the $7.31 I spent on this project in the first place...
